The
Oregon Fire Service Honor Guard is made up of members of the fire
service, paid and volunteer, from the entire state. Members serve
on their own time at their own expense to provide honors to the fallen,
to provide assistance to their families and to post colors at major
fire service events.
The Oregon Fire Service Honor Guard is a non-profit organization
supported by donations and grants. Serving any Emergency Response
organization in the state be it local, state, federal or private.

The
Oregon Fire Service Honor Guard, in partnership with the Oregon Department
of Public Safety Standards and Training is responsible for the Oregon
Fallen Firefighter's Memorial located in Salem. The honor guard performs
all ceremonies at the site.
Every year on the third Thursday in September at 1:00 PM friends
family and co-workers of the fallen gather to honor their memory at
the memorial.
